Two very fine buildings and properties, sold as one. This property lies in the beautiful wilderness section between Indian Lake and Blue Mountain Lake, bordering Adirondack State Park Land. Both buildings were meticulously built and exhibit superb quality craftsmanship and materials. The shop is zoned commercial and the cabin residential. The two buildings share almost 3 acres along Route 30 and border the Blue Mountain Lake Wild Forest area along the back boundary.
Previously known and run as The Pumpkin Mountain Gunshop, a classic Adirondack Sporting Goods Store, this property is well suited as a private workshop for any craft, and is also a perfect location and setting for any retail business. It has a very natural rustic attraction and people are drawn to it. The shop is over 2,200 square feet and offers space for a variety of uses. Meticulously built in 1982 by Mr. Don Hamilton for his personal and professional uses as an expert vintage gunmaker and all around craftsman, the shop is a very fine building of lasting quality. This property also has a good driveway, spacious parking, and a great well.
Built in 1978, also by Don Hamilton, the Cabin’s hand crafted quality and charm are evident from the moment you walk through the door. Expertly hand hewn log construction, custom doors and trim, cupboards, shelves and railings are just some of the care and attention to detail that make the camp a joy to behold and relax in. The Vermont Casting wood stove is accented by a custom hearth and chimney; the stonework was accomplished by Swiss stone mason, Mr. Simon Sulzer.
The Rock River and Rock Lake are both out back in the wild country behind the property. Durant Lake, Blue Mountain Lake, The Adirondack Museum, and the Northville-Placid Trail are all just minutes away. Indian Lake is about six miles south. Beautiful country in a great part of the Park. People have enjoyed stopping here for over forty years to enjoy the shop and the Adirondack cabin, share some stories and take a few pictures. It is a great place as a home or camp, a storefront business or shop. It’s a beautiful property for cookouts, camping, hiking, and back-country excursions.
This is truly a one-of-a-kind property that would be hard to match anywhere; the central Adirondack location and setting are beautiful, the quality high, and the charm is timeless.
