Few places are more striking than New England in autumn. And with millions of acres of lush landscapes, quaint towns, and waterfront properties, it’s no wonder why the Adirondack Park becomes a top travel destination each fall. Say so long to summer, here are 5 reasons to travel to the Adirondacks this fall:
Elevated Your Experience
Want to take your leaf-peeping to the next level? Some of the best views are found at the highest altitudes. Whether that be a gondola ride, the top of the Olympic Ski Jump in Lake Placid, or a hot air balloon. There are endless excursions that will take you to new heights.
It would be impossible to lead this list with anything other than the spectacular fall foliage that is seen each year. Leaf peeping, as it is lovingly called, peaks from late September to early October. We recommend taking a drive on one of the many scenic byways to soak up the crisp hues.
Take a Hike
Not ready to tackle the 46? No worries, the Adirondacks are chock-full of beginner trails with equally amazing views. We recommend checking out The Fire Tower Challenge. Bonus points for the above-the-treeline views fire towers provide for better leaf peeping!
Our quaint downtowns, flannels, fireplaces, and foliage resemble a rom-com brought to life. The ‘Dacks bring the romance with a dash of rustic flair. Cozy up in a cabin or relax in a traditional Adirondack chair to enjoy the ambiance.
Drink Like a Local
Go full stein ahead and toast to Oktoberfest! The Adirondack Craft Beverage Trail leads to over 20 breweries to taste test some of the finest beers, wines, and spirits in the high peaks region. Prost!
